Today I was filling up and as I pulled the nozzle out I noticed a small 1/4 to 1/2 inch round piece of rubber fall off the nozzle and into my tank.
Question. How large is the screen, and do you think it will cause any problems?

In the 11+ years I've had my Rocket I've never run out of fuel. That being said, I was wondering if anyone has determined the maximum amount of fuel that can be drawn out before she coughs to a stop?
Ishrub's Treasure Trove found you all the late series chrome oil tank From VIN 237541 A9730136 on Canadian eBay last year. That went for $300 from memory.
Now I have found a new in box early series version to suit R3's with VIN below 279483 and DOES NOT FIT TOURINGS OR ROADSTERS.

Ok so this has me a bit baffled.
My fuel tank is pressurizing while riding. When I got home today I opened the cap and a healthy dose of pressure came out. Closed it back up, about 2-3 minutes later, open it up, and more pressure was relieved?!

Unfortunately I am in the market for a replacement fuel tank for my -14 Rocket 3 Roadster.
Looking for used without any dents. Paint scratches are ok as I am planning on sanding down and repainting the bike.
If you have a pristine Phantom Black with Red Stripe one I will pay more...
If R&R the oil tank, the manual shows two places on the crankcase with hex nut "oil tank adapters" where the two oil tank pipes go.
The manual recommends changing the copper seals, and the torque spec for refitting is a substantial 45 N-m.
Looking around on Hermy's, I don't see those seals...
Is it a direct fit or is some fiddlin required? I like the look of the Roadster tank over the touring tank. I also believe the Roadster tank holds more fuel.
Well today was the day I found out exactly how much fuel the rocket holds.
Checked the trip meter this morning and thought should I tip some fuel out of the can into the bike had 230kms of around town ridding.
I'll be right will get some on the way home from work.

So you know in the manual where for fuel tank removal process it states:
1. Raise and prop the fuel tank
2. Make a note of or mark the position of the two breather hoses at the front left of the tank
What if someone (me) skipped step 2 thinking that just laying the hoses on the bike frame...
Has anyone applied film to their fuel tanks and other panels to prevent stone chips and if so which is the best to use?
Also, any useful tips in applying the film would be handy to know.
One chip can be very annoying....
Scratched tank? Without changing/spoiling the look off your tank, to all you/us fat gutted jacket wearers with a belt.;):D These are just a leather sleeve that fits over your belt and slides over the buckle once done up on either your trousers and/or jacket belts.

Can someone tell me if the fuel cap acts as a breather for allowing air to replace the fuel as it is used up?
I ask this cos when i fill to FULL then BLAT down the road I can get a spray of fuel from the non genuine filler cap. I want to know if I make a gasket for it to seal i wont be...
