Does anyone know of a good HID Light kit for the rocket? I bought one from amazon and it came with the wrong wiring harness and terrible directions. I will be returning it.

I've searched through threads, but it seems endless and confusing. What is the easiest way to get brighter headlights? Would it be just to put some led bulbs in the stock housing, or go with an hid conversion. Also some people say that hid's aren't any better with the stock reflectors.... Help!!

@Rocket Scientist had a thread "Do you want better headlights" where he'd found better reflectors. Probably the cheapest improvement you can make (besides the EB kit). When I have the money, I'll get the haymakers ;)

HID's are so yesterday, LED is where you want to go as others have said.

The Harley Daymakers are from what I can gather pretty much these http://www.jwspeaker.com/products/headlights/model-8630-575-round-led-high-low-headlight which come with 4-year warranties instead of 1 (and no "Harley-Davidson" logo...)

Personally I'm getting the Truck-lite Phase 7 7-inch, because the Daymakers / JW Speaker ones are too directional - going down the road they're great, but in the twisties or when taking curves from what I gather they fire right into the road or out into space, not forward. LED light that's projected is extremely directional, there's not a lot of spill. But there's no 5.75 inch Truck-lite.

Having done 2 sets of HID lights in the past, with reflectors, I wont be going down that road again.... If the HID bulb is not in a projector bulb its pointless. Looks very bright when in front of the bike, but the light beam is pathetic and you lose the ability to have high beams (The magnet ones with high beams are stupid) and some of them have a tiny xenon bulb thats as bright as a candle. I wouldn't do HID again.

I seen Bull's Daymakers in Montrose. They are a good set of lights at night. What I did notice is during the day when he had them on they did not seem as bright as the OEM lights. I suppose the only negative thing is during the day people will not notice you as much. Granted it hard to get people to notice you in the day anyway or you would not see them pulling right out in front of you. I can say I would consider his lights as they make night sight for the operator so much better. And look pretty cool also.

Also worth noting that as far as I know every HID conversion is illegal and prone to blinding passing motorists. Projectors too.

I have seen Bull's Daymakers in the day time and I could see him from a half mile back. Yes I left him in the dirt fatboy could not keep up with bug teeth :eek::p:roll::D
