I just checked my Australian triumph brochures and on the roaster and according to them and research on the internet it was 2012 when the rockets had the restriction removed from the first 3 gears from the factory.

so from reading this post, somewhere between 2010 and 2014 there where restrictions added to the first 3 or all 5 gears and then removed at a different point in time...

awesome, well im on 2012 roadster, it feels super duper fast but i came from 4 years on a Triumph America which was a little sluggish...

Rockets were restricted from day one (2004/5) in the first three gears. The restriction was easily removed by adding an ATRE (along with a GIPro i.e. gear indicator) or by using a tuning package such as Tuneboy or Tune ECU. Many, perhaps most, owners derestricted their bikes. In 2010, with the introduction of the Roadster, power and torque were both increased - on paper at least - but the bikes were still restricted in the first three gears. For 2014 Triumph decided to derestrict the bikes from the factory. This didn't add power or torque; just unlocked what was always there. We're only taking about the first three gears. Got it?
You should disregard any comments that suggest otherwise.
@Murf , take note also.

Firstly Welcome to the Forum, send me your email address in a "conversation" and I will send you a completely unrestricted tune for your bike, yes they did remove the first three gears restriction in 2014 but they left the secondaries partly closed in part of the secondary throttle table my tweaked tune will be 100% unrestricted and given a bit of extra fuel as the Std Triumph tune are all a bit lean
