Just replaced my rear Bridgestone. Had 7800 miles on it. Probably would have made it to 9000 but the Maggie valley ride is about 2000 miles altogether for me. At any rate it;
(1) Lasted twice as long as a Metzler.
(2) Hooks up better.
(3) Handled as good or better.
(4) Taller profile gives slightly higher gearing.
(5) Oh ya, lots cheaper too !
Care to guess what kind I replaced it with ?

I just put on a fresh avon for the ride to maggie and it is 4400 miles round trip for me I must be nuts!

I just stuck another metz on the front yesterday but i get them fitted for $265

I brought the tire and rim down and got a new Brigestone rear for $214.00 out the door.

(1) Lasted twice as long as a Metzler due to deeper tread, longer wearing compound and taller gearing (ie less tendency to inadvertently spin on accel)
(2) Hooks up better - due partly to flatter cross section giving wider contact patch
(3) Handled as good or better., especially in the wet
(4) Taller profile gives slightly higher gearing - and smoother, more cushioned ride.
(5) Oh ya, lots cheaper too ! True, but almost irrelevant.

Care to guess what kind I replaced it with ?

Iv'e been quoted $275 at Brisbane Bike Tyres in Moss street going over on sat to get one fitted. 12500km worn out on the right hand side.
