Not sure when Triumph first installed the electronic restrictors but I read a Triumph news release when I was buying mine that they removed them on the 2014.

Hi and welcome from Tassie mate  as far as I knew they took the restrictions out on the first 3 gears in 2010 when I brought my roadster, but your 06 may have had a different tune in it ? Did you buy it new?

Highly likely your '06 had been derestricted. Pretty easy to do and a very high proportion of owners of pre '14 models (when the factory started derestricting them) would have done it.

edit: 2010 models had a claimed higher power figure which was not actually evident on the ground. The enormous goofy foot cans on the Roadsters added a lot of weight which most likely ate up any extra oomph. 2014 was when they were derestricted in the first three gears, not 2010.

Hello Murf and welcome from Virginia. I bet a hook up to a computer can open it up for you...

Thanks for every ones welcomes and help so far I mainly upgraded because of the restricter being removed so am a bit disappointed but I will contact triumph where I bought it and see what they can tell me

I just checked my Australian triumph brochures and on the roaster and according to them and research on the internet it was 2012 when the rockets had the restriction removed from the first 3 gears from the factory.

Hmm, I read somewhere recently it was 2010 - on the internet no less. ;) That was wrong too. It was 2014 mate.
