I have recently fitted a standard Triumph flyscreen to my Rocket and despite following the instructions carefully there is a problem with the clutch cable catching on the underside of the headstock. The instructions suggest fitting a heat applied strip to the underside of the ingnitiion cover as they have obviously anticipated a problem in this area with cables catching / rubbing but this doesn't seem to be the problem area as cables clear this sharp edge but catch the stock instead. Has anyone had the same problems or good ideas so as to avoid. I have tried adjusting positions/angle of cable management brackets etc but with no great success. :(

It's a problem with the Classic, but shouldn't be with the standard Rocket, and I've used the fly screen on both. I took a couple of lengths of rubber fuel hose (about 4"), split it lengthwise and slipped it over the clutch cable to protect it from rubbing at extreme streering, both on the stock and the screen.

+1 Essential if using the stock fly screen on a Classic. But don't be tempted to use even longer spacers as it ruined the airflow for me - terrible turbulence around my head. Otherwise buy the sports screen which is designed for the job.

Thanks for this - have just fitted Thunderbike T bars and this seems to have sorted the problem ......and added a few others as recent posting.
