2020 Rocket 3 TFC details released!

I understand that the internet is made for *****ing about things, but I'm going to try tossing out some potential positives to see what might stick:
  • Price: This is the special, limited edition TFC model, with only 750 produced and all the upgrades included. The production bikes are going to be considerably less (I hope).
  • Bonus! The problems that plague nearly all new models will be discovered by the people that have enough cash to deal with it and ride their other bikes while these are in the shop, so hopefully they'll be all sorted out by the time the plebeian version(s) comes out for the rest of us.
  • Power: Those numbers are seriously disappointing. Environmental regulations mean they have to be or else they would never make it to half of their markets. It's a shame that historically, the Triumph Rocket was completely untunable and nobody ever figures out how to bypass the treehugger compromises to really wake these big engines up. I suspect that it will take several hours for someone to reach the numbers we were hoping for.
  • Tech: Pretty good actually.
That said, it's out of my reach so the only real effect this will have on my life for the foreseeable future is taking away my right to call my '09 the largest production bike ever.

Probably. But without access to accurate demographic sales data - I'd not bet on it, though. If I were going to get a Yamaha - it'd be a Niken GT.

Vmax is a myth, so Yamaha will do everything to continue. Who buy a Vmax, buy it for passion, not for a rational choice.
I have been driven the Nikken but isn´t for me. I think it should have the mt10 engine too

TOTALLY! I know when I got my 2010 re-released Thunderbird, I seemed to have had every major problem that developed... still loved that bike though! I said... NEVER again will I buy a first year production... :ninja: My adrenaline still runs high thinking about the new bike though... :D:rolleyes: Possibly because I'm no where near mine at the moment... o_O

The power numbers are very disappointing. As many motorcycle companies make models that only sell in certain countries, I can't understand why Triumph would not make the new R3 2.5L have different tunes with much higher power output for the countries that do NOT involve Euro 5. Bad choice Triumph to make them ALL Euro 5 compliant.

I guess the big news I was hoping for today was the announcement of a regular production rocket. What year and how much? More models to follow? Obviously I can't afford 29,000 for a TFC rocket, but I don't think you can compare it to a 2018 rocket. These are supposed to be limited edition, numbered, first year, ultra rare, total factory customs. Every year Harley Davidson produces base models and then there special CVO models (special paint and some extra chrome) and charge 10,000 extra for them. And every year people buy then. I think the important thing is that triumph has completely changed the rocket, new aluminum frame, bigger motor, six speed, Leds, electronics and the rocket will continue to live. None of that stuff is cheap, I hope they sell all the TFC rockets and next year we see a regular 2021 rocket roadster and I am sure it will be cheaper.

The production model has already been spotted. Just a few less bells and whistles in braking and suspension ect.
