your numbers are very respectable. and i salute you for them.

when i said 140 hp i was refering to at the crank as adveertised by triumph.

i will be getting my bike dynoed at in a few months and make changes accordingly.

as i said i dont get all crazy squirrely on my bike, its just nice to have the power to

get away from the drunk rednecks out here in the desert.

i was chased by one idiot and he did not back down till we hit 110.

it doesnt happen often but it does happen occasionally.

i could retaliate at them but them but they would probably just wait for me later.

the odds of surviving a bike/trunk incident are not too good.

im an old fart that just likes to putt around but when the power is needed it better be there.

Gotcha. That tune is probably pretty close to the stock Standard tune. Should work pretty well.

As for being an old fart, well, I'm 62 so I suspect your not as old you might think.

Anyway, welcome aboard. There's a wealth of knowledge here, and you'll find answers to just about any issue you may encounter.

This brings up a good point about loading tunes and adjusting parameters with tune ECU.
Without a dyno, can you tune a stock R3T to perform better than what the factory did?
Not necessarily for more power but smooth it out. Does a tune exist for this?
Is it not worth the bother until you perform some mods (i.e. exhaust and K&N's)?

Welcome!!! Sounds like your our newest guinea pig and dont mind making the changes! I applaude that as Im too scared to that. im capable but my riding season is somewhat short so Ill save all the mads for winter.

I used tune ecu on my bike.
i raised the rev limit to 7000 rpm
raised my top speed to 225 kpm.
lowered my fan temp to 100 c
and opened up the 2ndaries.

My T is much more responsive now.
I love the change and cant say enough about it.
It is really worth the price of the cable.
DO IT!!!

will be making more changes for this weekend with fuel and timing.

these bikes are a blast.

hi guys im new r3 nowner mine is 06 mod bought it with staintune pipes and powercammadder fitted ,no cat fitted (australian mod) done a 5th gear roll on with the 09 vmax (my mates) it was even from 80km to 150km then vmax startted to pull away thats 50 to 95 mph the pipes alone claim 22 hp on dino at rear wheel in crease with no other mod.
i had mine to 220km (136 mph) and was still pulling stongley when i backedd off im running 4% richer fuel ratio than stock. one thing wrong with it though IT CANT GET ENOUGH RIDE TIME

i have been working on cars, motorcycles and diesels for 30+years.
i have been co-owner/mechanic of my own shop.
worked in several others and got to where i couldnt do the manual labor anymore.
the weather is nicer inside.
and no more heavy labor.
i still work on the occasional motorcycle or car but mostly keep to my own.
if i screw up my bike i have no one to blame but myself and will fix it myself.
i love machines and dont so much care for people.
and above all else... I LOVE THESE BIKES.

Daffy
Did you find my profile some place and copy it? lol
Particularly the part about machines and people?

One little difference, I left the wrenching to get away from people, but the railroad has since wreaked havoc on my body.

This site is by far, the best place to find ideas for anything R3.

Pete welcome to the site .... since you already have the power commander and exhaust the next step is to let her breathe and get back the factory installed 7% power reduction in 1st-3rd gears.
You should consider triple RU-2780 K&N filters, removing the secondaries and adding a GiPro. Download the tune titled "D&D's with triple filters" into the PC3 for the new filter configuration (or have it dyno tuned) and enjoy the ride. :D
I guarantee that V Max won't have such an easy time with you, especially from a standing start.

did a 300+ mile test run this weekend after tuning my T and it was just awesome.

up the mountians down the mountians hair pins off camber corners the whole shooting match.

it was just an absolutely wonderful ride. just a small hiccup in the very low rpms
that i will sort out this week.

good gravy i love these bikes.

for those who know this area it was ...

395 to Topaz, over monitor pass then up over Ebbets pass to angle camp.
then north to jackson and then east on 88 back to 395 to carson.

and a beautiful day to boot.

my daughter biffed it on her america nothing too serious just hurt her pinky finger and scuffed up the bike alittle.

she still finished the ride, i think her pride too the biggest beating.

Daffy

I was told the tourer was governed not to go over 180 klm per hr , A few weeks ago on mine i gave it the throttle and was still pulling at around 190 when i chickened out not the bike , , got over 180 and then had a flashback of 30 minuites earlier when i came round a bend at 130 klm , only to see a bunch of wild goats in the road .

Only thing i've had done is the tors pipes . I think you have to be careful thoiugh this bike has had problems with the tyres , you would want to make sure there ok if your gonna be pushing it often ,

Myself i don't really go over 120-130 unles i'm overtaking .

I was told the tourer was governed not to go over 180 klm per hr ,

Assuming you're talking about the Touring and not the Tourer, its speed limited to 210 KPH or 130 MPH. There are a couple of Tuneboy tunes floating around that will raise that a bit, but as you've noted, the H rated tires are a limiting factor.
