The title says it all really - does anyone have the grips and lights installed, and if so do they work off the same switch block? If not, does it all start to get a bit messy and cluttered?

The Triumph switches for the lights & grips are one and the same piece of kit, but it's bloody ugly. Ugliest switch I've ever seen. I've got a spare one if you want it for nothing bar postage.

I don't have the lights, but I've wired my heated grips to a simple three way switch on the plastic panel in front of the LHS sidepanel.

Maybe you could mount two switches there?

I have the heated grips and the fog lights on my 06 Classis. Both switches are installed in the same block (I added the lights later and the block for the grips had a placeholder already in it for the lights). If you're interested in how it looks, I'll snap a picture and post it up.

I have the switch also, no grips, (a plug in the second hole) but the fog lights.
I agree the switch is ugly, looks like they had some leftover from the Lancaster bomber.

Thanks guys, and Owl in particular thanks for the offer of the switch - very much appreciated. The situation is that I have the grips fitted from new on my bike and was considering getting the lights. I know that considered opinion is that the switch gear is 'aesthetically challenged', so I wanted to check if I needed to go double ugly with one for each set of equipment, or if both fitted in one.

I think I will get the lights and then look for a more pleasing alternative to the switches.

Top help from the forum yet again!

Cheers,

Drof

I found a really nice switch alternative but it's a bit pricey so I never tried it.

The switch housing can be found at ;
http://www.pingelonline.com/handlebar_controls/handlebar_control_with_toggle.htm

They have 1 and 2 switch versions.

They only come with on/off switches. You would have to replace the toggles with 3ways.

I found some LED tipped 3 ways that would fit the housing at www.mcmaster.com page 842 7347K73

A cheaper alternative is
http://www.raskcycle.com/cgi-bin/cart.pl?db=british.dat&category=Handlebar+Switch

IMO, they dont look much better than the ugly black box and ya gotta drill holes in your bars.

I put the Harley switch (71718-02) and housing (70248-02) on mine (the left hand switch block in the pic). They fit against the HD switchgear but can be mounted anywhere along the bars if you make or find the bottom half of the clamp. They come in chrome or black and will hold up to three switches.
