USually have to take a pee when hands get cold. Insert hands and pee problem goes away, can't find it. Hands are warmed however!
Serious side, gloves are the best, top and bottom of hands get warmed.
Same problem here. Thought I found a solution. I tried tying a string around it. Worked pretty well a few times until I needed to go real bad. In my haste, I accidentally pulled out a hair instead of the string and peed all over my leg.
well I ride in the cold often but never peed in my pants however i peed on my shoes many times when a gust of wind would catch me off guard standing in the light breeze drawing yellow shapes in the snow ..
never used heated grips I just stopped every 30 mn and pee
Guess I'm lucky it doesn't get all that cold for all that long here - -5C is about it and in winter the days tend to be sunny anyway. But I do recall getting home to my farm(when I had it) one night with numb hands and busting for a pee. I couldn't for the life of me get my pants undone. So there I am, dancing about trying to grip the fly tab with frozen hands. Ended up having to throw those boots out!
Just gotta throw in my 2 cents. I think you're making the best choice going with gloves. I use Gerbings T-5 micro-wire. They were about $170-$180 but worth it. They're waterproof and come with a life-time warranty on the heating elements. They work great. That will plug directly into your battery and you don't need anything else.
Now if you want to add more heated gear, you'll need the dual temp controller. Another 100 bucks but that's just the way it is.
I bought a Gerbings heated jacket too, brand new, on Ebay for $105 shipped. So for $375-$380 you are as snug and comfortable as you can be which I find important in very cold weather riding. It keeps me alert and my body loose rather than tense and shivering.
