Heated Grips anyone??

I have the Triumph heated grips on my classic & they work well enough but it's my finger tips that get cold & the grips only heat the hands. Although I use them in cold weather I don't think they are as useful as needed, don't have the answer either.

i would not recommend the triumph heated grips for the r3t they r decent down to bout 45 degrees but i have had my throttle grip break twice i would go for the after market or the gloves

I had the factory heated grips installed on my 2008 R3T. They are similar in their function to the ones that I had on my FJR1300. There's a dial near the grip on the left side of the handlebar, and you turn it on or off, and dial it up, with the dial.

I kind of prefer the BMW approach where there's a simple switch with a couple of levels ... off, low, medium, high, or similar.

Even though I prefer the distinct settings to the dialed in settings, I can't complain about the Triumph grips. They do work, and I really like heated grips when the temperature drops down to the mid 40's F, and below.

Have heated grips on my 06 classic. Really nice on those 40 deg fall days. My only complaint is when I stop for red lights, my hands get too warm without the airflow.:) Never tried gloves, so can't compare.

I had the heated handle grips installed when I purchased my 07 R3C. They have "high" and "low" temp settings. Here in Vermont, they have helped extend the riding season by 1-2 months. I'm a fan.

Triumph Rocket 3 Panel Kit - Powerlet Products

Back in 2005 a bought the whole deal from Gerbing..jacket,pants and gloves. The problem being i couldn't stay awake :D it put me to sleep. I use just the jacket and gloves and a pair of long johns and it works great keeping me warm. Powerlet Products has all you need for electrical hook ups. If you do go with heated gloves and Jacket make sure you get the controller it makes a difference, those heated gear can get uncomfortabley hot at times. I paid $150 for the gloves and the same for the Jacket, that was seven years ago and there still working fine.

I believe Gerbing has a lifetime warranty on the heating elements. They have a new line of hybrid jacket and gloves which have a 2 or 3 battery life to keep you warm even once you're off the bike. No hybrid pants as of yet. I've pretty well maxed out my budget for the Rocket this year so a full heated outfit (including socks!)is on the wishlist for 2013.
