Corbin Sucks

 
Corbin seats are the best around- nice and hard as a motorbike seat should be as said the new owners might have something to do with your experience.
Silly question why put a fairing on a Rocket I know a few have but the logic escapes me.

I just put my Triumph seat back on the bike. That should tell you something about "the best" I'm not listing the problems with the seat because I'm trying to sell the thing.

2007 I rode 1500 miles straight (only stopping for gas) on a Thunderbird 900, took 29hrs to get from NYC to Kanopolis, KS. I had such a good time I did it again.... twice. The biggest problem was the wind hitting me square in the chest, especially with the triumph rain suit on also my luggage mounted on a rack on the back created a lot of drag so I got terrible gas mileage. To answer your question, everything I put on this bike, including the fairing was to make it the ideal bike for iron butt rides all season round.

Old age and soaking dentures does not get the bugs out anymore, it also allows us old geezers to ride longer in cold weather. Personal choice Scot, much like wearing a kilt. I have a fairing on mine and wear a kilt too.

I have a Corbin seat on my R3T. Its my second Corbin. Before the Corbin I tried the Triumph Solo seat. It was better than the stock seat but still too soft. My first Corbin (on a BMW) followed a Sargent which followed a Bill Mayer. For me, the Corbin is hands down the most comfortable seat I've found. Of the two I've had, there have been no workmanship or fitment issues.
 
HAVE had CORBIN seats on my bikes for years and I agree the most comfortable seats ive used and never had any problems with fit or finish

My problem is specifically with the Dual Tour seat on the Rocket. The main problem is that instead of using the existing key quick release the seat bolts on, worse, the bolts are not accessible if you have Corbin Beetle Bags. To access the battery I had to remove both bags, then the seat that is held on by 2 bolts.

Other minor problems with the seat is that the stitching lets in water, if the seat gets wet, you'll have a wet arse for the rest of the week and its thicker than the stock seat, so you'd better have long legs or a landingear Legup.

The fact that the stock seat has channels leading to the airbox and the Corbin did not did concern me, but I dont think caused any problems.

That said, I'd not exclaim Corbin sucked because of that alone. It is the very poor quality paintwork, build, ergonomics and slow unhelpful (but polite) customer service that brought me to post.

I'm still waiting for my 3rd set of Beetle Bags that the dealership removed June 2009. I would expect a reputable company to be embarrassed by the same paint problem on 2 sets of bags and to want to get them back to me promptly. These things were expensive and not nearly as good build quality as the Triumph Tourer ones.
