Another Rivco riser thread

Yeah i got the touring by mistake, i'll see if they'll swap them for the standard/classic version. If not, i'll make these work.

@ Robm422..how'd your risers pan out? You get Rivco to ship you the other set? Been wanting to do this mod since last year. Got a pic of the finished set up?

Well, long story short, i did get a replacement set and got them on, but went on vacation for a week, so its still not finished. I decided to go with new longer cables, so I took all three off and am going to take them to Barnett (close to my house) to have longer ones made. Hopefully get there friday, when I get a day off. I'll take some pics when its all done.

Ps- i hope i can bleed the brakes well enough to ride to the dealer, because I guess you need a 'dealers tool' to bleed the abs unit. Otherwise I'll have to flatbed it over there.

Thanks for the heads up...like you, I wasn't aware a special tool was needed to bleed the brakes. And to think I was planning to do that soon.

I found some shifty rerouting of the cables on my R3R negated the need for longer cables , 40k klm and no probs knock on wood , the bracket wont clear when i lift the tank but i found it easy just to remover the tanks rear hinge-bolt and sit the tank sideways where the seat normally sits

Hmmmm, i'll have to try that with the seat, because i kind of forced it up, like an idiot and chipped the paint on the front lip of the tank, now i need to fix that with some touch up paint.
