Version 2 of theHansO AFR Map now available

Cant think of anything more dangerous ESPECIALLY if you don't have an AFR readout.

Not only will you have no idea what's actually going on - but you'll (at a guess) be concentrating more on that little adjuster button that the soccer-moms using cellphones.

Get something that logs data - go for a ride - stop and look at the logs - adjust and ride again etc.

There are 2 reasons why I don't have the LCD screen for the PCV - one is the distraction - the other is the cost. And there's a 3rd - where the hell to mount it without it looking odd.
My thoughts exactly, I thought about it so I could use it to watch my AFR's (yes the PCV LCD module does that) but wasn't keen on trying to watch it while riding, so I just stuck to my tried and true method .... listen to the motor intake sound, If you listen carefully you can hear when it is yearning for more fuel that and memorising my wrist position versus the revs and making mental notes what changes I need to make then going home read the AFR trim table and make the adjustments, that is how I came up with version 2

More and more I look for a minimalist dash. I do have some additional instrumentation - I don't deny it. But nothing with anything one can adjust on the move. And nothing one NEEDS to monitor.

I did try one of these for a while VI Performance but soon stuffed it in a bag and just used it to log data - this before the PCV.

Oh And I forgot to mention the LCD module also can be used as a data logger as well, I still wouldn't mind having it as a display of what's going on as it display quite a bit of info, just cant justifies the expense and then where would I put it even the GPS annoys me at times, I don't want to over crowd the cockpit :)

Hanso, it sounds like I need to give this new map a shot. I'm blown away by what I have now, but I'd like to try this new version.

Do you mind sending it to me when you have a minute?

send your e-mail in with forum name in a PM :)

Also, let me understand something here. Can both Tune ECU and PC5 (with or without AT) be used together (and if so...is this combo advisable)? I'm assuming if the answer is yes, then PC5 will administer the A/F adjustments and TuneECU will handle other tuning areas?

Thanks for the help gurus!

You've pretty much hit it on the head.

Use TuneECU to look up errors - alter things like top speed limit/rev limits - fan thermostat - F->L table switch - secondary butterflies, and let the PCV (with Autotune) handle the fueling.

imo using the map/gear option in the PCV is also a big plus.

Hmmm. So, how does the mapping work if using both. How can the bike's ECU use two different maps from two different sources?

This is fascinating stuff and I'm still learning so be patient please.

Hanso - do your TuneECU maps make any adjustments to timing and rev/speed limiters?
I don't touch the Timing except where I have done the same as so many have and that is to copy the 4th gear tables into the first three gears but the speed limiter and the rev limiter can and are usually adjusted

Most definitely A Big Yes that is how most of us PCV +AT user run our bikes the TuneECU takes care of the rest the PCV +AT just looks after the fuelling. :)
