Tuning questions

Hi. I'm new to the R3 and had some questions about tuning the R3. First is Tuneecu. Is it as easy as downloading Tuneecu onto a laptop and then hooking it up to the bike? I noticed the program is 12 dollars at the play store. Does that mean you can tune the bike from your phone?

Second I've noticed a lot of folks seem to be running without the O2 sensor. Is there just one sensor? Is it narrow band or wide band? Is there only one sensor or one per cylinder? I would prefer to run with the O2 sensor in closed loop. I have run the PCV on my old Harley and I didn't like that I was running open loop. I read that the PC3 gives us the ability to deliver more fuel than the stock system will allow. Is there not a tuner that will let you do both fuel and timing and stay in closed loop?

Third: can each cylinder be tuned individually or is fuel and spark advance the same for all three cylinders.

The pay Tunecu runs on Android but I don't think you can load a new tune with it. The PC version is free but for the cable. The single stock O2 sensor is narrow band. The stock tuning uses closed loop at lower throttle, mainly for emissions and fuel economy. You can get a wide band sensor with the PCV which it will use to determine fuel. With a good tune for fuel, either with PCV or diectly with TuneEcu, the narrow band sensor is unnecessary. Each cylinder can be tuned either with TuneEcu or the PCV. Maybe the dynojet ignition module can do each cylinder, don't know, but the stock tignition tuning goes by gear.

Yep, you can load a new tune
Get Lonelec cable, comes with android adapter
