Total Solar Eclipse path sea to shining sea 20170821

I'v seen Halley's and Hale-Bopp comets. During the Hale-Bopp pass, my neighbor Rory set up a telescope in his front yard in the afternoons. He schooled us a little on astronomy. Then we took turns looking up. It was great.

Was going to work a radio data collection effort by ARRL but, would ride north to get a better view.
Any takers?

I thought about going to Lime, OR too since I live so close to it. However Lime is in a tight canyon and is closed in. I want to be in an open high area so I can try to see beyond the dark. Thinking about outside Huntington, OR. Still looking for just that great place to view it.

It will be a long trip here to totality.

20 feet to the coffee pot. Another 25 to the garden benches outside.

In between Silverton, Oregon and Silver Falls State park.

Not sure if I locate the black Rocket in the dark. Guess I can walk.

Turn on the parking lights just before totality.
