Total Solar Eclipse path sea to shining sea 20170821

i'll be watching from rockspond campground in sc...

Dude!!! I used to stay there a lot when my dad was still with us. He and I would stay with a friend who had a little trailer at Rockspond and we would go fishing out on the water in a boat. Good times!

That lake and canal has the biggest catfish I've ever seen. We would catch 20-40 pound catfish there. However I have seen a 70 pounder hanging on the scales that some guy caught.

Yep.100% here. Gonna have a few people here the night before and maybe 64 Herald and his brother Kooler. Might be a fantastic event at my house.:D:D:D:D

Shhhhhhhhh!

Joesmoe is coming down from VA and staying at the house the day before. We're kind of undecided what to do at this point. There are a few places ten miles or so from my house that is in 100% area we can venture too. We could just see everything from my house but it's not in the 100% area. I'm going to try my best to get us in one of those areas in which will have a good view at the same time.

i'll remember to keep my toes out of the water... i never even heard of a mudsucker that big before... don't know how far away u r, but if you want to do a bbq i'm up for it... we'll just be sitting around... rockspond is supposed to be in the blackout path...

We had a company business meeting yesterday. The company manager talked about future work coming to our facility, profits, etc... He also said that the company is going to buy the employees glasses and let everyone walk outside to view the eclipse.

I thought that was pretty cool for them to do that.

Yeah you might want to do that. There are gators in the lake as well... no joking. I didn't believe the people who was telling me but turns out I have seen them myself.

My dad and I was in the boat just slowly cursing around in some coves. I told dad that it sure was hot... going to jump in the water for a little while. Dad told me not too and pointed towards the bank behind my back. I turned around and saw a gator sitting there on the bank just ready to come shooting out into the water. WHAT!

The hype is picking up on the evening news. It's being said the national forest roads up here will be jammed, oh joy. I had a plan of attack but won't discuss it here. Then there's the back up plan already discussed. Be careful out there.

Yeah they are telling everyone around here if you need anything for that weekend to get it now. They say it will be worse than if they are calling for snow. Gonna get food stocked up probably Friday for the following weekend. **** tourists. LOL
