This could be an opportunity for a number of rides to points along the path of totality, from Oregon to South Carolina.

And there might be Plan A and Plan B for each ride, taking into account weather and forecast visibility.

If interested, I could arrange for a flop at the Cultus Lake Resort and we could motor the easy 98 miles from there to Madras the morning of August 21st and get there before the 10:18 AM specticle.

Jan 4th, 1992 was the last one I saw. Looking out over the Pacific Ocean from Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego. Back when film was still king. This was an annular eclipse happening as the sun sank into the ocean. I think it is time to do another one. I think motoring to Lime, OR would be a neat place, an eclipse in a ghost town.
