I first went down that path, but eBay (look at closed auctions) and other sources wanted $330-$350 used, and had to add shipping on to that. I bought brand new for $370.
Got another member sending a used set for cost of shipping.
I will get to check out the sound and performance.
If I like them but they are too rough, I'll buy new.
Wolf I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that just drilling around the center pipe won't do anything on R3 pipes. That area is just a closed void and doesn't open into the muffler. Someone can check if I'm right by taking off the trim rings and checking if exhaust gas comes out of the three screw holes that secure the trim tips.
A really long drill bit that can get all the way back to the next plate could work, but what a pain in ars !!
Hopefully I will tackle this project soon, been busy working on the KTM after a nice crash at the supermoto track.
Thanks for the pictures R&R, they’re very helpful.
