Or he bought it and he is having way to much fun riding to post
That or he is at the doctors trying to see if they can do anything about the silly grin he can't get off his face
:)

Someone told him that if he got a Rocket he'd never look back..

I agree

Hi Ryeboy
I think your right..the Rocket is probably at it's most difficult when the engine is off.
Being on the short side myself at 5"8" it could be a problem.
The way to overcome this is to have confidence in yourself and grab the bike by the
scruff off the neck and just do it..don't think about it and it becames second nature.
Of course it helps if you help yourself by picking the right spots to park and turn around
and avoid gradients..but generally it's all about confidence.

Ray

I totally agree Ray, that it is all about confidence. Practice and patience both pay off into building confidence. By now, I'm pretty much confident into riding my Rocket anywhere.

I love the off road silencers (mufflers) that I had RPM Cycle install on my bike before I purchased it, they do give that 3 cylinder engine kind of a sports car sound. The fellow I purchased the bike from told me that I could probably tickle 150 miles per hour on the top end, and although I've not had it at full speed yet, I believe him. The ease at which the R3 hit 100mph was most impressive - it did it at the snap of one's fingers.

I just say to any first time riders of the Rocket, just be careful for awhile - don't be afraid of it, just respect it. All this comes from a retired ironworker of 63, that is my 2 cents worth.

You're right about the sound of the TORs. Some people are critical of them because they sound raspy. That's true, compared to a V twin. But they do sound like an old fashioned sports car - I reckon pretty close to an old Jag with a sports system. I like 'em too.

Karan, I'm known for being, ummm, candid and to the point on these owner's sites, so here's the short answer to your query, my response being, of course, just one man's opinion;):

Absolutely not!!!!
The mere fact of your raising the question that you did in your opening post is proof positive that you are not ready to tackle and master this beast.

Take an MSF course or two (on their bikes) and if you're comfortable from that point, buy yourself a moderate sized bike (600-900cc) to build up your skillsets, experience and confidence levels. Better yet, buy a dirt bike and really lern how to throw a bike around before you spend much time on open roads!

Good luck, have fun, be safe and enjoy the ride!

I agree 100% with Phil. Pretty sure I've never said that before.

The only thing I would add is make that a 600-900cc cruiser. The 600cc sport bikes are fast and require a high level of skill. Just ask a friend of mine. We call him one arm Willy now.

..and the sky has not fallen.

Hey, there's a first time for just about everything, Les.:D

Hopefully, this history might repeat itself sometime in the future.

Even, Hans and I have shared some bons mots in the not so distant past. What gives???:bch:
