Yeah, saw that. The 225/50 is smaller in diameter than the stock Metz which means that you end up turning higher revs at any given speed. Less gas mileage. More wear on the engine. Most Captains that have gone with that size have wished that they would have gone with the 225/55 which is only 1% larger than stock. Slightly lower revs and slight increase in mpg.
Yes I was wondering what consequences of going with a different size than stock would be but I could never find the size of the Metz 240/50/16 that is on my Roadster. I know the section width is 9.00" because I measured it. Measuring the diameter would be a little difficult so I didn't fool with it.
When you say stock are you talking about 240/50/16?
Because the touring bike uses a 180/70 R16 and I have the Roadster.
