I haven't measured the clearance between my shaft and my 225-55 tire but if the tire manufactures sizes are true there is more clearance than with the 249-50 MC tire. the same would be true regardless of the shaft size.

I am 228. might start at 28-30 then try up and dow 2 psi at a time and see what feels best.

You will not like it at first. I didnt but after a few miles and lower air I am happy and will not go back to a M T.
