Finally got my seat back today. I bought the new heated dual tourer from corbin. When it came in, the heater wouldn't work and the switch just blinked.

Well they sent me a new switch, I swapped that out, it still blinked, still no heat. So we arranged a return. The seat came back today. I plug it up flip the switch, the switch stays lit solid, but still no heat. At least not much, If I push hard on it, I can almost feel a little warmth. Guess it's gonna make it's 4th trip across the country.

One question, which way is the switch flipped when it is on high. Toward the front of the bike or toward the rear?

Also, they refused to install the latch pin that I requested. They said it wouldnt hold the seat. That is total BS. I used the seat for two weeks with nothing, just sitting there. It weighs 30lbs +, It's not going anywhere.

Guess I'll have to install a latch pin myself, like some of you other guys have done. All in all this corbin purchase has been a total nightmare. I've forked out a ton of money and wasted a lot of my own time and still have a piece of junk.

Latch pin

The standard stock triumph seat has a latch pin. You turn the key in the side panel and it relases the latch so that you can lift the seat off.

The corbin dual tourer has this bracket that bolts to the rear fender.

If you search this forum you will see many people having problems getting the bracket to fit. Plus you are blocking access to your battery and toolkit.

Lets say your on the road and your battery dies.

With the corbin design; You need tools to remove your seat so that you can get to the battery. No problem, you have a toolkit, UNDER THE SEAT. DUH!....

Several of the guys here have discarded the bracket and added thier own latch pin. The seat is heavy enough it's not going anywhere. (30lbs+) The latch pin just keeps someone from stealing it.

Corbin says they can't install it for safety reasons. My wife and I rode the thing for two weeks with nothing but gravity holding it. We didnt have any problems with safety.

The next time I get my seat back, it will have completed 5 trips across country, east coast to west coast. The seat has more miles on it than my bike.

Considering what they charge for these things, they should bend over backwards to make the customer happy. At least I am generating revenue for UPS and FEDEX.

Regarding the wiring connectors, I dont have any real problems disconnecting. I just ran the wires under my chrome fender rails. Just disconnect it and lift the seat.

Also, I'm adding my own fuse setup, if they every get the thing working. Thier contraption goes in the fuse box and sticks up so the lid won't go back on. Thier solution was to velcro the lid back on. (rubberbands, duct tape and velcro) Bad design.

On my wifes Harley we have the heated seat and the high heat is to the rear. Hers will get very warm, almost too much. She likes it very much.

Thanks, I been trying to get that question answered for a month. Corbin couldn't answer it.

At least someone is getting some heat from a seat. Maybe one day they will get mine working.

It's supposed to heat up to 110° or a few plus degrees. In about 10 minutes. THen it shuts off every hour.

I have the Dual Tour heated also...mine worked from day one with no problems. Switched depressed on the forward side is High heat, switch depressed on the rear side is Low (so low I can barely feel it and my Pillion can't feel it at all).

If you look at the chart that came with the seat, Low is only about 10 degrees lower than high. The real difference between the high and low settings is the amount of time it takes to reach full temp.

Sounds like your low is not functioning properly. Even on low it should get to around 100°. LIke you though, I'd be satisifed if just the high side worked.

It works!!

Finally got my seat back for the 3rd time.

This time the heater actually works. 5 trips across the country in a big brown truck and it finally works.

I bought the thing at the beginning of october, now here in december I have what I ordered, finally.
