Although its a pain in the arse polishing them it is good to sit back and enjoy the rewards of your labour. Chrome wheels would look flash for sure !!

I havent seen a definitive answer to that. Somewhere between 06 and 08 they changed to no coating.

I know my mate Ruzzel has an 05 with the Clearcoat still in pristine condition but I have seen another guy that get around here but does not get on the forum and I think his might be an 05, I'm not sure but the clear coat on his is looking very sad

Hey Rabbit--it's common knowledge that the '06 Classics were the finest Rockets made so far...

Mines an '07 plated Standard and there was no clear coating on my wheels.

I havent tracked down a local seller of Purple Polish yet,but I tried some of this Nano aluminium polish and it works ok.
