When I went to buy a new roadster back in 2010 when they first came out the dealer was the first one to tell me about the cam and I could have swore I read some where they had a different cam grind as he was the one that shown me the article, maybe I am wrong, maybe it just old age catching up with me as it was 6 years ago now
 
Na, triumph marketing did a number when releasing the roadster, talking about "new" kayaba forks (identical to previous models), "new" shocks which are really just the comfort shocks from previous years, more power (really it was just not gutting the bike in ecu like before).

It's totally believable the dealer may have thought they did update the cam, but I'm almost certain they didnt.
 
The cams are all the same, you are right Claviger. The bikes vary a little due to "production tolerances". I have done many Reband pipes with over 160 rwhp. The only CES ones I have seen have had different mufflers on them, holding back power. The guy who did Big Kels bike is a good operator, his numbers do not surprise me. A good tuner will get those or very close to those figures Claviger, the air filter makes a difference as well don't forget. Tuning the bike is that, tuning, why would one do only the fuelling? Ign must be done in the proper tuning process.
 
I wish all operators saw it like you lushy.

Most in the states don't do ignition, they just throw it on the dyno, and use it basically as a large dynojet auto tune station, scared to do it the right way via ecu editing instead power commander.

I have not had "tuning link" software for years. Apart from me paying heaps of $ for the same software each year......grr. I found that if I tuned the bikes manually I was/am getting better numbers anyway, even with using a P Commander. The tuning link gear only works with a PComm anyway. I use over 20 different softwares on all different bikes. Any auto tune device is an averaging device. If you want it to run average, that's fine, if you want it to run well, then tune it well.

then if tuned well what can I expect in HP figure (ballpark )for my rocket when nels tune it in a few weeks as you may remember beside your goodies it has a ramair filter and a jardine exhaust
as of now I can already feel the difference, but it is only seat of the pant impression?
 
Is the Jardine exhaust for the roadster or is it the earlier one from the Rocket three? If it's the early one I would say 200 at the tyre or maybe a little more. The early Jars are not as wide a torque curve as say a CES or Reband exhaust but will do 200rw with those cams/pistons. The later Roadster Jardines 3 into one into 2 are more restrictive than the early ones and I am not sure as I have not tested that exact setup. I did do one with custom headers and the Jardine twin mufflers and that was ok, 204?? from memory.

Agreed . . . my CES numbers were 158 RWHP & 157 TQ.
Versus 150 RWHP & 150 TQ with TORs.
Shall soon get some dyno numbers for the Ram Air addition . . .
