Carpenters new pipe, heat shields required?

A bit of a thread Necro, but it''s pertinent.

Do you have any more info on which end cap that is? Manufacturer or part number? Anything else on the baffle would be awesome warp too!
I have the Brute pipe and have run it without a baffle for years and never got a ticket as the Harleys with pipes are much louder But Carpenter did install a muffler core for ROSS the NJ policeman that won the BRUTE HP SHOOTOUT at AMI at the DAYTONA BEACH bike week But he removed the muffler core and never reinstalled it . There are several muffler cores you can install if you want it quieter. I road tested the original pipe with a muffler core and it worked great but when the owner picked up the bike he also removed the core and never reinstalled it as he also wanted it louder ? WARPS end cap looks great and is available from FREEDOM CYCLE and they have the inner core also other muffler cores are avaiable from HINDLE and BROCKS PERFORMANCE. CARPENTER designed a core but they arent in stock yet. There are so many HARLEYS with louder pipes the Rocket seems quiet .

I was going to just push the like button to confirm I liked the losing of so much weight, but I personally don't think the welds or the flange needs to be touched. And as for the springs I like the look. Makes me think I'm riding the workds largest Yamaha RD350 lol.
YES others love the look of the perfect welds and others like the look of the springs .

A good pipe deserves a good set of heat shields. Made by @Pedro :)

Of curse mine were all three made prior to the sidewinder style. For this Na motor I would be willing to try a set but other then looks they produce the same power as the ones above, so no need to spend more on pipes just for looks as its ride time :D
Warp has Custom heat shields that look great and both pipes make the same power

I think the weld complaints are cute. To a welder maybe they look bad, personally I see nothing wrong them in the slightest, pipes are proven to make incredible power and as last as far as I have seen, not a single complaint that Carpenter exhausts fall apart from bad welds.

Springs - Springs are used on some of the most expensive, well regarded, exhaust systems on the planet on motorcycles. Nothing new, nothing odd, nothing questionable about them.

No Problem. Do not have any pics now but will take a few at work Monday. If the weld is done correctly the penetration on the inside will be smooth and flat, if not done correctly there will be grind marks were the inside weld or penetration had to be removed. The weld itself should be a little convex with fine even ripples and no stop and start points. After working for the past 15 years as a tig welder we kind of know what we are talking about. Currently work on Military aircraft which has very high standards when it comes to weld inspections. On top of all this we are also a certified Class II weld inspector. Will the welds on the carpenter pipes work? Yes but by no means are they pretty

I have heard they got about 165 on a stocker. Mine come in slightly over 243HP.

Im sure you being an expert welder you know your business so do you weld exhaust systems also I havnt seen anything nicer on any of the exhasts sytems that we sell from several other pipe makers for all the different makes of bikes we work on. But anything thats even better is a plus and I appreciate talented craftsmen so post some pics of those beautiful welds and components you produce . WE like to let the experts construct the finished products we make the portotypes developed after hours of R&D on the DYNO and Road & Track testing .
