Purchased a few Rocket/Carpenter parts from a chap who had been left them by a friend who had passed away. Most of the parts are fairly obvious as to what they are/do but would like a little help identifying the cams and valve gear please.
First off there are 6 Valves measuring 37.85 mm (1.490.5")
12 x Shim under buckets with Double springs, retainers and collets.
Two Camchain tensioner blades both Triumph parts 1142048 and 1142055
1 x APE manual tensioner with alloy spacer type thing!
Two Cams which I believe to be Carpenter only markings are 2323 514BC-3 EX. 05-2012 514BC1- I. 08-2011

Along with these parts were the Carpenter Exhaust system and a PCV and set of CP X100A Pistons. I've tried to purchase the head but the seller never got back to me..........so I'd be interested to know what the cams and valves are, and if they would work/worth installing with a standard head? Looking forwards to hearing from the Carpenter guys!

Looks like you got a 240hp kit along with the exhaust, minus the ported head. Wonder what the previous owner has done with that

u don't want that stuff on your bike
would u take a $1000
lol

Frustrating isn't it..........the heads out there somewhere, seller of the other parts not replying unfortunately. Give me a clue ,what makes this different than a 210 kit other than Pistons , are the cams the same and are the valves standard Triumph as I can't see them on the Carpenter site?

The standard valves use shim over bucket and a single spring per valve.
The Carpenter setup converts to the shim under bucket with titanium retainers you have in your kit (the idea is to aid higher rev limit and reduce chances of spitting a shim out due to valve float like you'd get with shim over bucket).
And they used to use dual springs per valve (one inside the other) but changed to a single spring (a different one) a few years ago.
So your kit looks to be a few years old.

You could get Carpenter to do your head job only, since you have the rest of the parts.
The side of the box the pistons come in, and the sheet that comes with them, should tell you what compression ratio they are (e.g. 10.8)

Thanks again for the info……presume the other numbers on the cams are date stamps ,2012 and 2011 which would make them several years old and confirm it’s an older Carpenter kit.

With my 240 kit, I know the valves were stock whereas the heads were ported by Bob on
his incredible CNC machine. I believe he replaced the valve springs. I could have gone with titanium valves but neitrher he nor I could see the point with my riding.
