Bearclaw cut revisited

I really opened mine up the other night for the first time since the tripples and Dobeck install and totally agree; the biggest difference with the tripples is the way it keeps pulling. I'm mostly taking advantage on a daily basis in traffic of all the bottom end grunt I've unlocked but you gotta love the way it spins out so freely when you get the chance.

They are the RU2780, which is what I have fitted and seem to be the most commonly used. They have the advantage of fitting under the Bear Claw if you don't want to cut it away. However, a lot of riders also fit taller filters as Binnsy has done and there are other types too, which don't fit under the Bear Claw.

It's been suggested that the larger filters have better air flow - or more to the point, the RU2780s may not allow optimum air flow. I don't know. Personally I'd be surprised if there was much of a noticeable difference, if any, unless you have a lot of other modifications to your engine.

I suggest you look at these threads (not sure how to put in a link to them but they're easy to find).
