as I said It makes you think unless you are actually lifting the back wheel and even then there would be a certain amount of that weight shift in Shear pressure not Weight pressure if you get what I mean.
For the weight to truly transferred to the front you would have to have the bike standing on its nose vertically ..... if that happens I don't want to be on the bike
 
Simple physics would tell you that a bike standing on its nose would be exerting a hell of a lot less force than 500 kgs under heavy braking bearing down on the front tyre.
 
another example is that the Avon Cobra is rated as a "72 V" which means it is good for 355kg the bike weights more than that but there is never that full weight being exerted in a vertical plain, a certain amount of the weight is transferred into Shear pressure
 

Should be easy to work out!!! what is the Metz rated at?? If they are the same its a non-issue....
But i dont know the answer.

Load rating for the stock Metz front tire is 72 (355 KG or 782 LBS.).

I believe that the 150 tire is really oversized for our rim. So, I am still in a quandary regarding whether the 130 I'm contemplating for my next front tire is truly safe with a 62 load rating???

Thanks for the help, Hans. The more I read about it, the clearer it seems that the ratings are to be utilized per individual tire.
 
Had to buy this socket allen tool, its 1/2" drive to 19mm - $8.50
