Avon Cobra 150/80/17

A good idea if you're taking wheels in is to mark direction of rotation on the discs with marker pen. Don't assume the fitter knows which side the rear disc is on or which way the 'spokes' point on the front.

Where I go for tyres the discs have to be off so I mark the disc location face, but in principle you're are spot on.

..........................I believe that the 150 tire is really oversized for our rim.........................

You are not the first to believe that, Chris (barbagris on here) has looked into it in some depth and is convinced it is the case. He even found that if you look on the Metz site it states rim width for the Metz 150 is 4" - the Rocket rim is 3½".

EDIT: I've just looked at the Metz site and the reco width is 3.5" so .

............ So, I am still in a quandary regarding whether the 130 I'm contemplating for my next front tire is truly safe with a 62 load rating???

Didn't I see a post of yours that said there was a 140 V rated Mich tyre available? If so, what is the load rating for that? Might be a reasonable compromise.

 your kidding .... hope the tyres are cheap!!!..... with modern tyre fitting machines that is just not necessary

They claim wheels shouldn't be balanced with the discs on, don't ask me why?

They are the best local price and make a really good job, i.e. very careful to not mark wheel etc. Also one of the few places that let me watch when they do 'em. So, I don't argue. ;)

 Front wheel only, Great mind must think alike mate.. I left the arrows on for next time... but I found the rear is difficult to fit in reverse Richard :p :D

Maybe on early models, Battersea, but the 2012s and 13s are sporting 130/80 17 Dunlops.

The michelin Commander II has been mounted up front on my Mistress for the last year and change. It's a great tire, considerably better in every way to the OEM donut. The load rating for the Mich is 67. I'm contemplating going to a 130/70 17, W speed-rated Exedra Max, however the load rating of just 62 has me a bit concerned safety-wise.

Tradetools, I think they are a Qld company.
Can pick one up for you if you like.

I will double check in my local tool shop, I have just been using a short 19 mm bolt with 2 nuts lock together on it up till now
