When I bought my Rocket they tried to sell me Data Dot security. I said no thanks; if something steals it I don't want it back.

Disc clocks are pretty good security for something almost impossible to lift into a truck. The alarmed type serve to stop people tampering with it and even if the noise is disabled, they've still got to somehow move the bike.

Sold a new bike the other day with the Triumph alarm fitted. Customer was ready to disconnect it before he even left the shop....

Afraid I agree with that customer.
Alarms in cars and bikes are tricky and touchy from what I have seen and a definite PIA.
This wheel lock seems simple and un***upable . . . so. I'll give it a try.

A few years ago the 60 minutes programme did a report on car alarms and drove a late model range Rover Vogue from George
St Sydney to Parramatta with the Alarm wired to run continuously they sat at traffic lights with the thing blearing away and just looked at the other Motorists raised their hands in a frustrated manner as if to say the thing is malfunctioning , they even passed a Police paddy Wagon and did the same expression nothing happened, how many times do you hear a car alarm go off and think its faulty or some one forgot to press the off button IMHO they are only good at your home where you can check if some low life is stealing your vehicle.

Right on Mate!
I have alarms in my home and property that are silent and tip me off - NOT the puke who is trespassing with ill intent.
I would prefer to apprehend, cause recoverable injury to and THEN call the coppers!. :whitstling:
I would prefer this option on the Xena as well. :( I always park close as possible to my room window when out on the road so the ***r what sets Xena off had better be faster than I can get outta bed and give chase - albeit a VERY short chase. :p

Yeah, just saying that an effective alarm system has to be awake 24/7 and watching the bike. Electronics do that better than a Glock, plus the fact that you can't shoot a thief in America either without serious legal repercussions (unless you're a cop, in which case you can shoot anybody for kicks and get away with it, but that too is a separate discussion.)

I have learned to generally pass over your liberal commie pinko slams against my country.
However, I have just come upon this vitriolic piece of CRAP post from you, Finney, that offends me.
I shall not waste my time entering into a useless conversation with your Kool Aid closed mind.
I shall just leave you with a Mickey!

Right.

Meanwhile, could you tell me how many citizens are shot by police officers every year in America?

Because nobody can. Literally. There is no overall national statistic that says exactly how many citizens are shot by the people who are supposed to be keeping the peace and protecting them. It is literally unknown.

So clearly something is pretty darn way off. Plus the fact that the US is now an oligarchy ruled by the rich, that too is a bit of an issue. I bet you still thought it was a democracy in some way, huh?

Police brutality is a large and growing issue in America. SWAT assaults on homes have gone from a few hundred in 1970 to 3000 or so in the early 80's. In 2005 (the last year I know of stats from) it was 50000! The past 10 years have no doubt seen a huge uptick from that 50000, I wouldn't be surprised at 75000 or more.

I wasn't the one to bring up guns in an alarm thread and I decided to just let it go, until you went on your rant, so I figured I'd at least clarify where I was coming from with the statement that cops get to shoot people pretty much with impunity in America.

Oh well, at least I didn't descend to personal insults, unlike you.

@cr0ft
Re read your statement. I do Not see anything there about SWAT teams or oligarchy, which can apply to most forms of government.
You slammed America and cops in general! You don't know $hit about American police, what they do or why they do it!
SWAT team call outs are another matter and I agree there is room for concern in that area.
BTW - America is NOT a democracy, Finney! Read the
Pledge of Allegiance !

Won't happen in Australia the population (honest Citizens that is) have been disarmed by our Government ,we are not even allowed to have a Daisy BB gun without a license, the bad guys have all the guns and regularly have drive by shootings, so if someone tries to steal your possessions you are not allowed to threaten or hurt them or you will be charged, also there is a fair chance they may be armed the law hasn't stopped them in fact it has en powered them with a degree of confidence.

Sounds like New Jersey

You can shoot a thief in Texas if you catch them on your property taking what is yours!!!
