So...there are a lot of air intake solutions for the rocket so far. They all work, as expected. Not a single one, however, allows for the adjustment of intake runner length, or incorporates anything more than a nod to smoothing the intake air flow. This design will allow for simple adjustment of runner length in the drawing by shifting 3 surfaces, that's it.

AS A RESULT, I have decided I'll go ahead and make a solution for the community, to be used with any of the variants of the piper cross PX500 filter. This will be a process, I have to get the 1st one made, fit it, make adjustments to the drawing, ensure it's out of the way of the knee etc etc. Pipercross doesn't have good drawings posted of their filter or backplate, but there are rudimentary ones. I give you the initial drawing, to be printed for test fitment and figuring out where I can take material out without compromising the part:

So after pricing the original idea, its not reasonable to have it printed as it is, so shelving that for the moment, here are some singles that would be added to the Pipercross metal blank backing plate, they include a groove in the back for an O-ring and could be attached to the plate using some small self tapping screws, 2 or 3 will do the job:

And the final setup I'll build tonight, these are on order already, to adapt the RAMAIR filter using extensions that have a much better transition from the filter into the intake tract, two versions, 2" and 1", I ordered both planning on fitting and destructively testing to check their strength:

Beautiful cad drawings! I'm curious about what you call runner length? Are you considering a variable height velocity stack? If so, I don't think there's anyway to get one in the RamAir as it barely fits under the bear claw now.
 
Also, just one other thought, since you're obviously concerned with turbulence at the inlet, cut the thickness of the stock throttle bodies out of the inside bore from the bottom so that when you slide it on, it stops at a shoulder and effectively creates a smooth transition. Just a thought. Wish I could CAD draw but it makes the artist in me crazy? o_O
 
Your setup is what was on my mind as I was designing it @warp9.9 , but I wanted to have big fat stack rolls on the top.

@Rocket3Pilot they are a butt fit already, and will use a stretched 60mm silicone coupler to attach, so there will be a smooth no lip transition as its drawn. Fitting under the claw was never intended, but, that will be part of the tweaking, getting it positioned just right so you don't need the claw for appearances.

For the adjustable length, I have to draw it up, but I have a concept that will use the red setup as the basis and uses a sort of shim to add length, the tough part is that as they get longer, they will have to curve so you don't have the whole thing hanging way out off the side of the bike. To get the right curve I need one in hand first, and to do that, I need to get part cost down significantly first.

The next step is the wait game on shapeways and shipping... The patience part, not my forte.

How firkin funny! I noticed your nameplate @ the bottom of the engine under the triangle emblem, as I have the exact same emblem, also removed from the backing plate it came on, in the exact same spot on mine (NOT that I'm trying to compare my wimpy stock engine to yours)
Just thought that was funny how easily that caught my eye
