As some of you know, but ill fill the rest of you in, my CAT box failed
See this thread >>>CAT exhaust Failure
So i fixed that issue and decided to do some extra work to fix her up now that the CAT is free flowing
SO i found 2 good used sets of COBRA 6003 slipon pipes, they look nearly identical to the OEM pipes, i like the way the OEM pipes look and will always have a 3 pipe... ITS A ROCKET, it should have 3 pipes IMO
I cut the 90* parts off the pipes and found some 1-3/4 pipe scrap and welded things up
its a bit tricky to do welding, i have to set up my generator and what not to even tac things up.
I have the 1 side done now, i will keep updating as i keep working on it.
I have a MUCH nicer setup but i don't have the space right now to use it!

all day today was welding and finishing.
I'll post tomorrow on the brackets and what not and how I changed things when I paint them.
It sounds amazing.
Right below too loud and right above not loud enough. I could toss the low DB baffles in there of I was going on a trip but imo not loud enough to piss off the guys next door.
The roar it has is amazing.

Ok, so I ordered the lower DB baffle inserts and they made a HUGE difference. It still sounds beefy as before but it’s moderately less loud.

Put it this way I am the rider who always wears earplugs, even in a shoei helmet. Wind noise is too much for me at anything over 45 with no front wind screen. I had to put my ear plugs in all the way to keep from headaches with the cobra 6003's I did. BUT now that I put in the 9027 baffles (new style) it’s about 5 DB lower overall and I can ride with no ear plugs like the stock exhaust was before but it still sounds awesome, and best of all, NO DRONE!
I have a decent DB meter and I measured the OEM exhaust at 66 to 68db at idle standing behind and 74 to 76 db at 5500 RPMS
The Cobra's with the cat removed, and the box modified, I was at 75 to 78 DB at idle and 82 to 86 Db at 5500 rpms
With the 1-5/8 baffles installed it measured 68 to 72 at idle and 76 to 79 at 5,500 rpms.
Remember decibels are 2x the volume per 10db.
I am SUPER happy with the results.
