What's your MPG?

Ok, I guess I need to re-phrase the question? I'm trying to maximize the tuning of my 2013 Triumph Roadster. I drive exactly the same as I did before but it appears that RamAir, headers, and TOR's cost 10mpg! Does that sound reasonable to anybody? I installed PCV+AT to try to improve the mpg and it didn't do a thing. Nothing, and practically zero change in performance. So is there a chance that a dyno tune could bring it up, or is that all I can expect with those modifications? Who has the same mods and knows what their gas mileage is?

Thanks

@Rocket3Pilot I have close to your configuration, and just rode it for the first time today. Will certainly let you know when I get some miles on her. At a minimum, will be doing ~1,000 miles to Mayberry RFD Days and back.

Hope to see you there.

i would be interested to hear how this comes out. I've hesitated in my mods because of these little details. I've an under seat k&n w/ Reband exhaust and pc5 and can average 38 to 41, depending upon gas stations used.

I have a git'n go and a Kum n go, that I do better with not sure what they do different. When I'm not working I pass every thing but a gas station

Amigo, as you have acknowledged - TAKES FUEL TO MAKE POWER
MORE POWER = MORE FUEL
case closed!

'11 Roadster here with RamAir, TORs and stock headers. I'm getting 33 MPG on long highway trips and 28 MPG in mixed commuting. When the bike was bone stock, the numbers were only 1 MPG better.

Based on the good MPG you had when stock, it sounds like the speed limits in Virginia are lower (or better observed ). Perhaps the new header pipes shifted your optimal power band higher in the RPM range, and you're seeing a relatively bigger hit when cruising along at lower RPMs. Another possibility is that your tune is overly rich for your combination.

I think a lot of folks considering adding headers would want to know?
Thanks, that's actually the first response to address the actual question as a tuning question which is what I intended. I just wanted to know how far off I was and how much effort I should make to get to a dyno tuner. It doesn't sound like I'm off that much at all.

I was hoping for more input as I remember reading someones post in a thread argument about Carpenters performance kit and claiming they were getting 36 to 38 MPG? My guess was they didn't actually know what they were getting and didn't care but just wanted to argue. Still it had me wondering?

Seems like everyone just assumed I'm complaining or whining about my lower MPG. I really don't care. Hell, gas is cheaper than water technically speaking. It's just an old school thing, to monitor your mpg's as a trending tell tale. I still do it with all my cars. I didn't think headers and air filter would equal 8 to 10mpg?

I did find it curious that on a long trip out to Vegas and back, my best mileage was crusing at around 85mph. I actually got 40mpg once but that was the stock bike and it was southern Utah into Colorado on the way back and there I think the altitude was playing into the equation.

Thanks for your response, i'm not as concerned about my tuning now.
