I have just talked to my shop and they called to explain the parts listed in the update kitand asked me if I wanted it all put on the bike Because it had other than tranny stuff in it My question is do I need to get it all put in ...trying to save on labor charges,,,,I figure that I dont have to have the fuel tank sending unit fixed as I am used to it the way it is and the harness splicing I dont need because I already fixed the headlight / ignition problem with eastern beaver fix opther than that is there anything else you guys know of that I should or should not worry about in the kit,,like I said trying to keep labor down as much as I can but want to make sure all is good on the bike thats all for now still waiting on the dealer to finish tear down and figuring out what needs to be replaced

Ok so of course the 2nd gear stuff along with the output drive ( I am curious if the full assembly still comes with it or the parts if you can find out for me) Clautch stuff, the 06 cam blade guide is different then what comes in the kit so it depends on how many miles are on it. If she is ready for a valve chack then let them change it along with the chain and stuff that comes with the kit. Otherwise I would make sure you get everything that comes in th ekit so you can install later if needed.

well Ive got 78000 miles on it so I figured I would get all engine/ mechanical stuff put in and hold onto the gastank stuff and the harness upgrade just in case. Will let all know what the final determination is when its done

78k, miles, I was hoping triumph got a few of these right! My 06s has been popping out of 2nd (occasionally) since I bought it last year with 11k on it. My kit came in a couple days although they had to make a few calls to find it after I provided the #. I want to trust these guys but also understand parts markup is gravy on the taters and it wasn't until I provided the kit number they understood what I was talking about. I also got the impression that triumph's 16 hr estimate is low and they would rather not do the job. our shop rates are up to $110. hr !!! mechanics and veterinarians. Bigfoot, if you could update this thread It would help me being in the same position.

Yes in my opinion 16 hours is a little low and 20 to 24 would be a lot fairer considering how much goes in. I have had my motor out and apart many times and I would have to bust my Arse to get it done in 16 hours. Personally I do not think I could make that time. Also Isince it is my ride I would take my time to make sure its done right checking other things while I am in the engine.
I also think since I had never had a motorcycle engine apart before and have not torn any engines apart since the late 80's anyone with soem wrenching experience and that can follow the manual can do the work if they take their time. Especially if they can get soem information or translation from people on these sites.
