Tune ECU / PCV help

Remove the Crankshaft position sensor - situated in the alternator cover- and clean the sensor, it's may be that have accumulated small metal shavings on crankshaft sensor, also check the cable-connectors and the cable itself for damage.

The crankshaft position sensor detects movement of a toothed wheel attached tothe alternator rotor.
The toothed wheel gives a reference point from which the actual crankshaft position iscalculated.
The crankshaft position sensor information is used by the ECM to determine engine speed and crankshaft position in relation to the point where fuel is injected and ignition of the fuel occurs.
When this sensor sends wrong or no information to the ECU, then the engine will not start.
I hope not, that you have your engine damaged by a wrong map.

Depends on your dealer. Mine would look the other way.

Given the errors - CHECK THE PCV CPS CONNECTORS and wiring.!

I'd try disconnecting therefore taking the PCV out of the equation first.

Hanso has a 2008 R3 - If he's sent you the map from his bike and if you've put that map into a 2012 roadster Triumph ECU - there is no way it will work.

I did not and would not send him a TuneECU map to suit my bike, I sent him a map of the TuneECU custom tunes site.
I also sent him my PCV + AT map which will work with any model. Steel said it was running fine till he tried to change things himself

I have a 2012 Roadster running the HansO ECu and PCV+AT maps with nothing but smiles for several thousand miles so far.

Sorry Guys this just dawned on me as a possible problem and it only ever happened to me after giving the bike a good vigorous wash and spraying to much water at back of motor where the CPS plug lives
I have found the CPS connector is very prone to catching water and then causing a short which makes the bike misfire and act like a rev limiter is cutting in, this can be anywhere in the Rev range. I only just thought about just then while trying to think what could have gone wrong, I hadn't thought about it before as I solved it by flooding the cup shape connecter with dielectric grease till it overflowed it only takes a couple of drops of water in this connecter to cause havoc

She ran great with Hanso's tune. I think it was just a coincidence that it malfunctioned after I messed with it. The dealer said it was the crank position sensor. They will make the warranty claim Monday. I can pick the bike up Thursday.

Just pulled the old Intruder 1400 out of the shed and fired it up. Will have to ride it tomorrow.

Good to know. Pressure washers - I hate them.

I did wash my bike also, but only with the garden hose. Now I'm wondering if I may have caused it

I don't use pressure washer on bike ..... Quickest way to wreck bearings I only use a garden hose also and I had the issue it was after using nothing more than a garden hose
