2008 W 16,620K False nutruals, pops out of gears
:( on the way to Ocean City, waiting for the shop to call.

Detent spring. Don't let them tell you the engine needs to come out. It's apparently a job you can do yourself if a bit handy with a spanner. I wouldn't know as I had my dealer do mine.

Does sound like deten spring .. pretty common problem. Search will reveal how to replace it. Can be got at through the clutch cover.

had the same problem with my 2008 r3standard .they may fix it under warranty..my total out of pocket expenses including new oil was around two hundred dollars

Detent spring

The 2008 r3 was supposed to have been the first model to come out with the problems with the detent problem solved, sure dont sound like it

redesign maybe????

Yes its the detent spring if you have problems getting one and are doing it yourself let me know I have a couple in stock.

Wow,,,didn't know it was that common that you stock them for Triumph!!!!:D But seriously,,,what is the replacement, same thing or did they change material, supplier, design? Just wondering....the only repeat problem I had was the broken throttle grip, and I fixed that (for good) myself because the Triumph part was exactly the same as the broken one.

Warp, can you throw one in with the Jardines and add it on to price...I'm thinking that's the cause of my gear slippage as well. I was thinking this weekend I'd pull the cover off and clean the solenoids but not sure I want to start that without a new spring in hand?

I myself have never broke one a member who does not ride Triumph anymore had them and sent them to me. I will be quenching his thirst in Maggie Valley for them. Repeat In the 60,000 hard fricking miles on the Falcon I have broke a lot of stuff butnever a detent spring. So don't everyone get worried just because I have a couple laying around. I have a couple other parts I ordered wrong also but that does not mean they break either :D
