i went back to post #1 and seen that it might be popping out of 2nd so there is noway i would put it back together with out getting the 2nd gears angle cut or what ever the terminology by Robinson is

I hope I can find the $'s to do that.
Meanwhile I want to wait for the detent spring that I ordered and compare it to the one I have & also compare new shift fork to my somewhat worn one.

there has been quite a few early rockets that have had the problem of jumping out of second and it only gets worse until it won't hold second at all.
now a bent shift fork may or may not be the problem. i always shift into 2nd b4 doing a full throttle and make sure that it is looked in.
unless i have someone beside me lol then it is wide open throttle.

OK great video. Now I understand your worry. We'll done if I was a betting man I'd bet on a Circlip slip. Is the bike still open in the front ? If so snap an picture of the detention wheel so we can verify whether a update kit has been installed on this rascal
I know you said the detent spring is on order so taking a picture of the detent wheel should be easy. Same with the cam chain guides. And if she is still open let's see a picture of the torsional damper. The inner bearing to be specific so I can tell you if it's been updated.

Send the shift to Robisons yes. I've had my 06 drive train lock up at 80mph as I was coasting.
It was the first time ever that I scanned the yards figuring I'd have to punch out.

It's a good dang thing God keeps throwing me back !!!
Let's see some pictures and figure out if you bike has had the update kit installed.
That might help in your decision as to which way you want to go.

Meanwhile I'll meander down in my various parts and pull out a set of updated transmission shafts.
I'm curious as to how much play is there.
Also did you say you had the shift disassembled while you had it apart?

All circlips are in place. I believe the detent wheel is the updated one, as the old one was a bearing, wasn't it. I also think the bearings are the updated ones (?). I'm not sure about the cam chain guides. Let me know if the pic's are ok or if you need me take more. Thanks!
