There WILL be 2015 Tourings

The 2015 is listed under the Rocket III Touring ABS

Earlier this year Jeremy at Baxter Cycles in Marne Iowa said that Triumph had announced to their US dealers that they could place orders for 2015 Rocket III Tourings. Baxter usually carries a large number of Triumphs, representing the full product line. Jeremy said that Triumph USA was taking the position that the Touring would continue as a model, and he expressed pleasure at this because the Touring had been a decent seller for Baxter.

Now, at the end of 2014, there are no R3Ts on their inventory. There are several of the assorted flavors of the Thunderbird, including some 2015 models.

It is just speculation, but my sense is that if there are any 2015s, they will be bikes that were held back from 2014 production so that they could be titled as 2015 bikes.

I'm glad I got my 2014. I bought it because of the speculation that 2014 would be the last year. I hope production is resumed. It's a great bike. But the market is quite crowded at this point, including the offerings from Victory, Indian, Harley, Honda, ... It's not that large a market segment, and with this many other marques vying for the small number or riders who would be up to an 875 pound behemoth, it's not surprising that the Thunderbird seems to be emerging as Triumph's continuing entry. The Thunderbird looks to me like it might have a better profit margin.

Better get your new Touring now if you think you want one.
I hope you guys understand the Rocket was not designed to sell like hot cakes It has the largset engine in the Motorcycle world and is intimidating to some riders and it has been detuned so it can be opereated by the riders that are moving up from 50-60 HP cruisers BUT it is still the most powerful cruiser out there

The R3T has not been "detuned" so that guys coming off of 50 - 60 hp cruisers can ride it.

It has been TUNED so that it has a VERY flat torque curve over a very wide range. Same as the Gold Wing.

The R3T is not supposed to be a Roadster. It is supposed to be a touring bike, which means "not horrible" gas mileage, reliable long life for the engine and drive train, and torque enough to give excellent acceleration and climbing capability for two up with luggage.

I know that there are guys who want to turn their touring into some kind of superbagger. That's fine. But when you do this, you are repurposing the bike from it's intended design.

I put Wayne's deristricting tune on, eliminated the bad decal popping, increased my fuel mileage. It has great power for a bagger, but is not so bad that it scares the crap out of me, but it was benefitial for me to get accustomed to the bike before I added the extra power, IMHO.

I googled 2015 Rocket III Touring a minute ago and came up with several bikes on Cycle Trader at dealerships and at prices of $17499. They were all ABS, and they were followed by several 2014 Rocket III Tourings at slightly lower prices.

So ... at least in the US it appears that there are R3Ts that will get titled as 2015s.
