RAAIII Check In

All.
Gail, Blackie and I made it home this evening just before 6 pm without incident. We went on this trip having never even met anyone except Paul and Heather whom I met very briefly earlier this year at a rally in south Texas.

I'd like to thank everyone for making us so welcome, we really felt like a part of the group!

Triumph folks are really a great bunch and we had a great time, we will definitely try to do it again every chance we get!

I have promised to be less of a lurker on this site and look forward to seeing everyone again next year if not sooner.

Thanks, Lonnie

Lonnie, to get your total post number up, how about posting some photos of Blackie so everyone can understand when I say your R3 is the best looking Rocket I have seen.

I had a fantastic time! Putting mirror breaking faces to names was icing on the cake as well..:D I too wish to thank Pig9r and Pianoman for a well run show. Also to boogerdave, Debbie(sp), and Scot in Exile for taking me along with all my drama. I made it home at 3:30 this morning riding shotgun on a car hauler from Menden Hall, Miss. with Find-a-Flat II no worse for wear.I will give her to Dink on Tuesday to figure out why she didn't start up. Good news is my cage transmission is finally done and they found my lost checkbook.:) I lost my phone after talking to Deb last night and tow company called this morning and said they found that too so one not so good day brings lots of good news the next.;) Ride safe and be well and we'll see you muggs next year.

Made it home at 1330 today. Had a final breakfast with the survivors and we headed out at 0900. Followed the Kansas City boys (and Flip) till they turned north when I went South. A final wave, and I was alone again... No more rocket scenery till next time. I gotta tell ya guys (and ladies of triumph, (I know you all liked triumph *****es better, but I didn't see the first ***** there, just alot of loving beautiful classy ladies.)) I had one heck of a time. May the Lord smile upon us all and keep us healthy and safe, so we can do it again. A real good time, thanks guys for letting an old h-d guy be part of something real. Words could not express the bond, no, brotherhood is a better word that I felt with you guys. Rocket 111 may be about the only "patch" we have in common, But I'd go to the ends of the earth to help EVERYONE of the rocket riders I met in E.S.. Well gotta go for now, I've gotta go mail off a gas tank I promised I'd shoot up north.. I love you guys.

Tony,
Thanks for the compliment, I'll post a few pics of Blackie here and then maybe some more with my trip pictures when I figure out the "Album" thing!

Regards, Lonnie

Nice bike

Schawing!

Thanks again to you and Pig9r for your stories around the fire, I have never appreciated my job so much!

Lot's o' work went into Blackie, frame mounted fairing (from an HD), different handlebar (Yamaha). Who'da thought HD and Yamaha parts would fit with a little effort on a Triumph.

Now about that shiny ring around the fuel fill...

What a great time! Glad to hear everyone's making it home safely far!. I just pulled in at 5:30 PM. Snuff and I rode together from Shreveport to Crockett, TX where we had lunch and parted ways. I would expect that he's already home. Might be a while before he posts, though. His wife was taking off early so she would be home when he got there... :D

Myself and Boogerdave arrived home safely, Baggage1 decided to eliminate the last section of the ride and sabataged his bike and called the tow company:D
Great time nice seeing a lot of the guys from last year and new ones this year and once again a big thanks to pig9r and Pianoman(dave) for all the extra over and beyond the call of duty work both of them put in.
Pianoman looks 10years younger than he did last year and hopefully you will keep on your program and who knows by next year you might (i said might) be as hansome as me:D

1800

we made it home, safe and sound. my thoughts confound me at the moment. I have a sense of satisfaction that i've not had for many long months. i'm happy for now but am already looking forward to the next. thus my thanks to each and every one of you for your company. Roni and I had a wonderful time putting faces to names at long last. the next gathering can not happen soon enough......:D
