RAAIII Check In

Home at 7:30 tonight with a total of 2524 miles total on the trip meter. Face is peeling or it could be leprosy from all those **** dead armadillos I saw on the road. I can't feel my ass and the fingers don't seem to want to type, but what a great crowd and good turn out. P and Piggier, as everyone has said, great job of putting this together.

Good on ya George, you should win the RAA III longest haul award! (unless of course Flip gets down to some serious rain dodging mileage....again!)

Here again, but Why?

I rolled in about 4:55 pm CDT with rain dripping off everything. Left Danno out on the interstate with 2+ hours to go & lots of rain ahead of him.

What a crazy day all! I won't elaborate just yet but will give some details later (unless someone else wishes to offer a story). For some reason I feel like I'm in the Dog House already but can't figure it out yet. I've said nothing but good things since I got home so surely I haven't stuck my foot in my mouth yet. Wait, .... Maybe I did when I mentioned that beautiful wind chime I wanted to get her but didn't have room on the bike to bring is along. Surely that wasn't it. Maybe if I'd stayed away another week she would be more compelled to be happy I was back at home.

Still trying to put it together, along with trying to figure out what it will take to put the "Red Fat Bottom Girl" back together. Nothing significant but will need some TLC.

I said a prayer this morning for everyone to make it home safe & I hope those that haven't reported in as of yet will indeed arrive as requested.

Thanks gals for attending the get together. It sure put twist of beauty into RAAIII. Thanks for all the members for allowing me to enjoy this sight even more due to knowing all of you on a personnel basis (some more than others but we won't allow that to change the statement).

Will post pics when time permits.

See ya.

George, good to see you made home safely. Hero Blob has been decorating your garage with poopy diapers while you were away.

Thanks all for posting pics. It looks like you had a great time. Maybe next year.

I think we need to ban BillZ.... :D

The return home for us stragglers wasn't uneventful. We got into Missouri and a helpful farmer dropped a bungie cord onto the highway and I ran over it. My rear Metz put up one hell of a fight (NOT....the farkin' thing popped right then and there, less than a 1000 miles on it ) and I had to pull off. Luckily there was a Mo Dot maintenance shop right there and I wallowed right on in. Danno was behind me and followed. The Mo DOT road crew guys came out and had an air tank. After plugging the tire (All of you really need to keep a tire repair kit onboard) I pulled the Rocket into their shop and we aired the tire up correctly and checked things over. Flipper had doubled back and was helping out also.

A few minutes later Rusty also had doubled back and was looking for us but you know Rusty... We should call him 100 MPH Rusty, he blew right by us but didn't see us, so Danno set off to chase down Rusty and bring him back. Flip had the Mo DOT guys cornered but they soon couldn't take it any more and every one of them jumped in a snow plow and hit the highway...

Danno finally caught up with Rusty and when Rusty stopped his foot dropped off of the side of the road and he dumped his bike. He said his bike slid upside down into the ditch and some helpful locals stopped and the four of them were able to get it out and back up on the road. Rusty was alright but his poor Rocket sustained some damage. I really feel bad about this, Rusty was just trying to help us out and this had to happen. His bike was still ridable and we continued on our way.

I made it back to KC and took 7 Hiway into Blue Springs. In the last 40 miles the Temp went from 75 to about 55 with a strong north wind and a sick sideways drizzle. I made it home OK and I hope the rest of the boys did also. Pianoman was off to his house and Rusty and Danno kept going north to St. Joe and Lincoln.

Enough of the gloomy news. The weekend as a whole was awesome. For those of you who couldn't make it I have plenty of stories and pics and will try to get a bunch of stuff posted in the coming days. Eureka Springs was just about a perfect destination, the weather for the most part was great, but the best part was all the people and the great time we had.

I want to echo everyone else's comments and just say that Pianoman and Piggr did a super job. You guys are the best.

Oh.... I now believe in ghosts.....

Wow, what a great time!! After I left rusty in St. Joe I got my weekly shower, now I can skip it tonight:D. Nothing like 55 degree pouring rain to keep you awake on the last leg of a long journey. I am so very glad to have met so many new friends the week-end. Thanks to Brian and Pianoman Dave for the great organization of the trip, and thanks to Flip, Skip, and Lonnie for the goodies. I think that this thread will be very, very long as we all had a great time and want to keep sharing.

I just realized that Flip won't be at a computer for another day. Pig9er can can talk all the smack about him that he wants, and Flip can't do a thing about it!!!

Gimme another chance

Just put me on double secret probation and invite me to RAA IV, please... I might be able to talk my bride into coming with Lonnie's advise.

Forgot to say thanks for the goodies (Dano ate my RIII M&M's, or I left them in the room). I do have the key chains and cross pennies.

I'm almost scared to look at all the pictures. Hearing about that jucukizi makes me a little fearful. The thought of ole flipper all sprawled out , in all his glory...:eek: Remember guys, what happens in Eureka Springs, stays in Eureka Springs ;).
Yea me and billz are already talking about a rockets across america 3.5, maybe in K.C. before the snow flies, maybe we need one more weekend before that long winter sets in . ok, nough said bout that I guess. Thanks everyone for everything, the friendship, the memories, ah the memories;). Thanks.
