paint can rattle on newer bikes

Triumph has denied the claim twice already because they didn't like the way the service manager filed out the form our the format that he sent the pictures in. He will try again on Monday meanwhile I'm with out my bike for a month now and I'm looking at least two more weeks

At least it sounds like your dealer is on your side and in your corner trying. That is a good sign.

I have a question to pose to everyone.
It seems that I read somewhere that part of the factory warranty is that the repairs are to be done within 30 days, is this true.

Thanks, Ridefree

I never heard of it but then I never read mine when I bought the bike. It would seem it should be less then 30 days but then I must admit you have a dealer that is really trying to find the problem also. it won't be long and I would wonder why Triumph does not send a replacement motor and take that on back to the UK to figure out whats wrong with it. if nothing else it might help them stop future warranty issues. I remember there is some poor feller on this site that is on his third rear differential on his new Roadster. That is another one I would be exchanging so I could take it back and find the issue. But then I am not Triumph.

Well I got the word today that Triumph has finally approved the claim. Looks like an engine rebuild at 14,600 miles

Keep us informed as to what was making the noise and which parts were replaced. Inquiring minds are definitely interested in this. My bike has 86,000 kms on it and had the update kit installed at approximately 24,000 after the output bearing was replaced at 14,000. Now the paint can rattle is back so I will likely replace the cam chain and guides over the winter.

I will keep everyone informed. This is the second 2013 r3t the first one was bought back by triumph with 6800 miles on it three months after I bought it for an oil leak due to a machining problem from the factory. Would have required new crankcases to fix it. They replaced it with the bike I have now and is having these problems at 14600 miles. To be honest, and I'm not very impressed, unfortunately. I love the bike but power is nothing without reliability. I hope this is the last of the problems.

Its a T it wants to act like a Harley dude let them take it back and get a Roadster
Just some humor!!!!!

I much prefer the look size of the touring, it gives me room to stretch out on long cross country rides. And I wish it acted like my Harley, it wouldnt have let me down. My 2003 Harley has almost 50000 miles and has been ultra reliable.

I caught my cam chain tensioner at 35,000 miles on the RK just in time before it shyt the bed. I'm about 61,000 into the second one and for sure will probably go with the hydrolic tensioner third time around. Just curious do they even make a hydrolic tensioner for the Rocket..???
