When i bought the bike..i had some accessories fitted including a fuel gauge and a clock.. although i like these two extra dials to look at. The fuel gauge is a bit hit and miss and i wear a watch most of the time.
I think triumph should have given us the choice of a temp gauge and an oil pressure gauge. I kinda don't like the idea of a liquid cooled bike and no temp gauge.
The warning light is ok..and it seems common practice these days..but with a gauge you know exacatly where you are and anything out of the ordinary you can spot it
immediately..same goes with the oil pressure gauge once you know what's normal for
your bike it's easy to spot.
I could be wrong but i always feel that lights won't give me enough warning
And that sometimes their difficult to see..when the sun is strong for example.
Am i the only one who feels like this.

I am with you. I would love to have some gauges for the same thing you just discribed. I am sure that there is enough guys on here with enough talent to install an after market set of electronic gauges the would give us exactly what we are looking for.

ANYONE??

I know it's not the same and would be slow to react in a system failure, but the analog dipstick oil temp gauge I got for mine is a reassuring little piece of temp info.

I bought some gauges and made my own cluster.

If you can find someone to make a bracket (or are inclined enough to make one yourself....as I am not) you can pretty much do whatever you want. The hook ups are pretty straight forward.

HeroBlob,
how about a nice little "how-to" on them gauge hookups.
I mentioned this very topic a couple of years ago,
but got no help then.
Glad to see someone else with the same concerns.
A good how-to with pics would sure be nice,
once we know the locations, and how you got yours working,
we can set about finding or making one that'll address our concerns.

Ok,
Here's the latest that I've found.
First though, here's what I wanted,
a dash that has:
1) coolant temp
2) oil pressure
3) oil temp
NOW dakota digital has gauges that will do two but not all three.
IF anybody finds a source for what I think I want,
please post a link.
What I've about decided to do is go with a digital temp dipstick.
That takes care of one problem, knowing the operating temp of the oil.
Then just getting one of the gauges from www.dakotadigital.com for the other combination we need, or want.,
coolant temp, and oil pressure.

Thanks

Hey Skip thanks for the pm..i've got a friend looking into it this side of the pond.
I will let you know how we get on

Sounds good Ray.
I hope we can find something that'll work.
If it had a volt meter in it, it'd be nice too,
but I'd be happy with just the coolant temp,
oil temp, and oil pressure,
in one sealed unit we could fab a mount for.
