One dead bike!

IT'S ALIVE! IT'S ALIVE Yep one new cable and got it working first time.

Did a bit of homework on this one and according to Audi there are two types of cables on the market.
A cheaper one(the first one I got) that is made to just read the fault codes, and will not download back to the ECU.
A only slightly more expensive version that works both ways.
I didn't know this as I didn't find this info till I dug around for it, and this is not mentioned in the sellers discriptions of the leads.

SO to all who follow DON'T BUY THE CHEAPEST ONE get the second cheapest.

Sorry I didn't see it earlier but the other were right on to it anyway, Glad it worked out. Fancy having to types of cables, sorry you had to find out the hard way but the up side we now know so hopefully nobody else will have to find out the hard way .... as long as they read this Thread!!!
hey but it is not the first time I have seen that I have bought a car cigarete lighter charger for my I-Phone only to find out when away from home and wanting to download a couple of photos and went to use the cable of it and it wouldn't do it so

I downloaded a driver for it off of the net though the disc that comes with it is a frizby

Two cables both look the same But

USB OBD2 OBD-II VAG KKL Cable for 409.1 Audi Skoda VW £6.99
Does not allow you to download data!!

OBD2 OBD II Diagnostic USB Cable KKL VAG COM 409.1 for Audi VW Skoda + OBD/VAG 2x2 ways cable £11.99
But this one does!!

Both sold by the same company (in UK) they look Identical to me!

I wonder how many have got the wrong one as I did first time round?

Got a Happy rocket, so now looking in to a PCV + and tripple filters under the Bear claw!

Looks like I got the right one (purely by luck) it matches the specs of the one that is supposed to work. I think I won't mess with it until I get back from my trip !
