Jeez that sucks and as everyone says wishing you a speedy recovery and glad you were not injured more.
As for your earlier comment on maybe not having another rocket - I would think if you were on any smaller bike you would have been injured more as the Indian would have plowed you over

Oh, I intend on getting another Rocket Touring if I have to get another bike. Nothing else interests me at the moment. I agree...my bike was like a cement wall in the road. The heavy big boy did its job and that bar in front of the pannier I'm sure kept his bike from getting to my leg. As for cost of some of the parts to fix it, I check the prices for most of what I can see that has to be replaced...included much of what I might need including small parts and I came up with over $8200.00. Just the tank and pannier is over $2700.00. There may be more or a little less but I wouldn't know unless I started tearing things apart. I could, but I have no desire to do that much work on my own, so if you factor in labor we may be talking big bucks. It could be totaled. I'll know more after I see what the adjuster has to say...no word from him yet. I'm supposed to hear from him by the end of the day tomorrow to setup a time for him to see it. I've already sent one contact guy a list of all the accessories I added. Over $1900.00 and I'm covered for $3000.00.

Remember, it's not your insurance company that covers the loss, it's the other guy's insurer, so you should be able to have it all done on their dime, bediff.

Yup the other guy's insurance ought to cover this lock stock and barrel, unless the cost to fix exceeds the value of the bike, in which case you can take the market value, and they take the bike, or to keep the bike, they may offer you scrap value, and you get to fix it yourself. But I am thinking they will have to fix it. Hopefully the frame isn't tweaked.

WELL......YOU guys obviously don't live in Michigan ! Here we have "no fault" insurance. Your own insurance company covers your

I still need a right saddlebag. Can you imagine me with all the **** I carry on the Rocket, now condensed to a backpak and on a Speed Triple?

In Michigan cars are no fault, bikes are not. If you want your $hit fixed, you better have full coverage even if it was the other idiots fault.

One hug coming up. Maybe more if she's lucky ;)
