Jardien pipes/PC3

Ok-I'm starting to get it. Pig9R, the 64 thousand $$ question? Is the bike safe with 20226? It pops a bit on decel-not too much and no big "bangs" but it does pop.

I understand that a PC3 requires the base stock tune to be installed-this I can get done no problem. Some machanics tell me that with today's gas reading plugs is not as reliable as in the past.

Best way to tell is on a dyno. You should be able to get a dyno run for $50 or so. The popping on decel or afterfiring is caused by a lean condition at closed throttle. The bike in stock form is pretty lean. I know one guy locally that has Jardines and a stock Triumph tune loaded and he hasn't had any problems. Now if you modify the intake it would probably be getting dangerously lean.

Thanks all for the help. My wife thinks I'm nuts-been reading the posts for three nights!

The bike runs fantastic. Really quick-30 to 40 mpg depending on how I ride. I'm really just getting the PC3 or tuneboy 'cause everybody says to. BTW, we put 20226 in the bike and its runs the same but it's much cooler on the header side. Yes, i know they are warm but this is very evident that the 20228 was MUCH hotter than the 20226.
My dealer seems to think the 20226 is fine based on conversations with Triumph in GA, but you all have me a bit worried I'm gonna be too lean.

If you like how it runs, get the air/fuel measured on the dyno. If it's good, don't waste any more money.

So, I put a PCIII in, remover the 02 sensor and plugged the hole with a M18-and she runs just fine. Almost no popping, and even then the popping is very slight and only when coming down from very high speed. Bike runs smooth at every RPM and still pulls like a train. So, for now I'm pleased.\The install was really simple. I looked at some of the threads on this-thanks to all-and it took all of one hour going slow. I had no issue finding the harnesses I needed or having access to them. I routed the PC main harness from the right hand side behind the battery and up the left side under the tank. It all fit like it was designed for it.
I really did not think the bike could run better-and it does. I'm sure the PC is working to fatten it up a bit as my MPG is down some-from 35 to around 31-32.
Thanks again to all.
