I know it potentially will keep the filter safe from rocks or whatever else the front tire spits up but is it really that much of an added safety?

Other Triumphs have the oil filter in the same general area without a cover, albeit not quite as exposed. Will the cover fit over a K&N filter with the wrenching surface on the end?
