I installed the Tsukayu GPS fairing (still evaluating, so don't ask about the product) and seem to have a "sway" in the front end between 85 and 100 MPH. The front end just starts to move from side to side at a rate of about one count per second.

I've never had a bike with a fairing before.

Is this normal? Is there any way to remedy the issue?

I only have 1300 miles on the bike so far, could the sway be caused by another issue?

Thanks!

EDIT-------

I changed the thread title. I removed the fairing and there is still a sway, but not as severe and at higher speeds. So, it appears that the install of the fairing exacerbated the existing sway witch is present with the stock windshield at high speeds.

To summarize; the sway with the stock windshield is present at 110 to 120 MPH. It is present, but not severe and seems to be worse during deceleration. With the fairing installed, it's present at 95 to 100 MPH and can be a real tank slapper... really brings the pucker factor up in a hurry.

Increasing the front tire pressure (as suggested in another post) had no effect.

This is a new bike with 1400 miles on it.

Comments? Suggestions?

I would say this is definitely not normal. I've riden bikes with fairings before and they don't do that.

This all said, I'm not sure what can be done about it. I know that if the aerodynamics are off it can cause an issue so by that logic perhaps adjusting things or adding air deflectors could help. I'm interested to hear what others have to say.

Get rid of it. They don't belong on Rockets. With the swaying, buffetting, lost of vision and the way they look I'm at a loss as to why anyone puts them on anyway.

I have the Corbin Fleetliner fairing on my R3R and it is fantastic. They are not cheap, however, I really like the look and the bike is rock solid at speed.

I had the same problem with my Touring above 120 mph, I think it;s the fork mounted 19" windshield.

Bikes that come from the factory with fairings are designed to function properly. Adding a big hunk of plastic to the front end of a bike not designed to carry it certainly might cause issues. Whether or not you can successfully compensate for the change is probably a bit of a crap shoot.
