Fuel filter

As a matter of interest at what miles or KMs are you replacing the fuel filter.

Only 20k but bike is a 2010 model , but i picked a bad tank full of gas this weekend . Manual says every 30k or 3years i think .

How do you guys get on with regards reusing the washers on the fuel pipe union ?

I have had my tank off for numerous reasons besides filter change and never have changed the washers for new. Guess I live a reckless life. About time for me to change out the WIX filter for a new one.

Guess they are like brake union washers ? Sometimes they seal again many times and often they don't ! !

Manual say's 20,000 miles. I need to get mine done soon. (23,500 miles showing) Bought new washers for the fuel line. Why take the chance of a leak?

I had about forty odd thousand miles when I replaced my fuel filter, the bike started to hesitate a wee bit at around 110-120mph changed the filter and all was well.

Florida must have some real clean fuel. Here in Oklahoma we are not so lucky.

I am cheap too. Must be my Scottish heritage. I tried to reuse the fuel line crush washers but they leaked when I tested it. I didn't want to over torque the banjo bolt, so I got the new ones. I figured a fuel leak at that fitting wasn't a good thing to try to live with.

Changed the fuel filter and plugs today , bike running smooth as now . I used a Ryco z200 out of a holden commodore, we had to trim a little off the in and out nipples but all good . I reckon the dealer never changed the plugs in the services they were rooted .
