It's really not that bad. Make sure your tank is on empty and have some old towels around so you can lay the tank on the towels and not scratch it up. I didn't replace the O-ring with a new one and didn't have any leaks but I assume this is not recommended.

When I changed mine I bent the fuel level rod a tad bit to achieve a more accurate reading for the fuel gauge/miles to empty. Just make sure that the fuel pump stays submerged in fuel for cooling purposes if you think you need to do any adjustment.

There is a cross referenced fuel filter that can be used made by WIX. I don't the part number but I bought two of them for the same price as one Triumph OEM filter. Contact Scot in Exile .... I believe he knows the part number.
